The Cowshed is back!

Blue Cow Theatre Inc.'s script development initiative is on again in 2015.

Is the daily grind milking your writing mojo?

Has your creative writing been cowed into status updates as your only outlet?

Are you udderly at a loss for how to develop your play?

.....well be at a loss no more.

Blue Cow, Hobart's artist driven theatre company, invites established playwrights, mid career playwrights, emerging playwrights and wannabes, (this means you) to apply to join the Cowshed 2015, Blue Cow Theatre Inc.’s playwright development program.

Once again Blue Cow is lucky enough to team up with one of Australia’s leading dramaturgs, Peter Matheson, to help you craft that script you know you can write.  We’ve got 12 spaces in the Cowshed for 2015, and that unfolds throughout the year:

It’s the Full Cream approach to hone your writing chops you won’t want to miss,

So here’s the skinny.

Who? – Yourself, other Tasmanian writers, and Peter Matheson – wow!  Check out his qualifications here.

What? – An orientation weekend; three weekends of face-to-face meetings and group workshops; two phone conferences; a final sharing and some casual catching up throughout the year.

What else? – A lot of work from you!  You’ll be writing and re-writing throughout the year and meeting deadlines agreed upon between you and Peter.  Don’t be scared, you’ll love it.

And What Else? – Opportunities to work with other playwrights; bounce ideas off each other; talk shop; read each other’s work and plays from around the world; and have a blast.

When? – Throughout 2015. The Orientation is 7 – 8 February. Full list of dates below.

Where? – Based here in Hobart, but ALL are welcome.

Why? – Blue Cow Theatre is committed to Tasmanian artists and helping them to develop their stories.  Blue Cow has produced three new works by Tasmanian writers over its 4 years. We want to cultivate new voices and new work and we want to present at least one work developed in the Cowshed by 2017.

How (much)– All this can be yours for $360 plus GST.
