For the third year running, Blue Cow has teamed up with one of Australia’s leading dramaturges, Peter Matheson, to help you whip that play into shape.

"Peter's knowledge is incredible and the sessions make me ask the tough questions about my work. The deadlines and his gentle prodding ensure that I don't keep putting off my writing."

We’ve got 12 spaces in the Cowshed for 2016, so here’s the skinny.

Who? – Yourself, other Tasmanian writers, and Peter Matheson – wow!  Check out his qualifications here.

What? – An orientation weekend; three weekends of face-to-face meetings and group workshops; two phone conferences; a final sharing and assorted casual catch ups throughout the year as well as the opportunity to attend previews of our shows at discounted prices.

What else? – A lot of work from you!  You’ll be writing and re-writing throughout the year and meeting deadlines agreed upon between you and Peter.  Don’t be scared, you’ll love it.

And What Else? – Opportunities to work with other playwrights; bounce ideas off each other; talk shop; read each other’s work and plays from around the world; and have a blast.

When? – Throughout 2016. The Orientation is 6 -7 February. Full list of dates below.

Where? – Based here in Hobart, but ALL are welcome.

Why? – Blue Cow Theatre is committed to Tasmanian artists and helping them to develop their stories.  Blue Cow has produced three new works by Tasmanian writers over its 5 years and will produce TWO new works developed in the Cowshed in 2016.  We want to cultivate new voices and new work so apply now and get to work telling your story.

How (much)– All this can be yours for $396 including GST.

"[The Cowshed] has also allowed me to meet some wonderfully talented people and has made me feel that my creative thoughts may have validity. I am no longer embarrassed to say 'I write'".
